Postgraduate Employment Based Trainees are employed as teachers as they train and so they spend most of their training time in their employer school.  Postgraduate Employment Based Trainees will teach some classes from September, and this will gradually increase to close to a qualified teacher’s timetable throughout the year.  Thursday afternoons are always Professional Studies lectures and so you won’t do any teaching on this day.  During the course, Trainees spend six weeks in another excellent local school teaching to broaden their experience.

It is usual but not essential for this route that you have been teaching and covering lessons for 1 to 2 years and often you will have a school that supports you.  The school will pay an agreed salary and may also pay for the QTS only training element. You can take the PGCE as well, this would be privately funded buy by yourself.  Some salaried courses will require you to pay your training fees.  You can discuss this at your interview.

Recruitment for our September 2024 programme opens in October 2023.
